You have heard it all, people saying they are going to do something. Promising or impressing or just plain boasting about all the wonderful things they are going to do for themselves and others.
This before the fact promising or boasting can actually be their undoing.
For one thing, now they are expected to produce, to do the promised action.
Then secondly, if they don’t come through in the proscribed time, they are considered weak, unreliable and quite irresponsible, all this just because they wanted to impress someone.
Quiet action is simply, don’t reveal what you intend on doing.
Stay focused on simply and completely doing the actions you are planning to do.
The fun outcome is that people will be surprised, pleased and will admire your accomplishment. They will also be more moved by your modesty and integrity.
You also get little or no discouraging, negative comments along the way.
The other side of the coin is if for some reason you can’t get it done, or the project fails, no one will be the wiser and you can chalk it up to a learned experience.
No matter, you will win either way!
Let’s coach around this!
